Thank you for the contribution ..

Thank you for the contribution ..

Ok, here's the latest version (2.3), which I now also have renamed to "XMT-Scalper". The changes from previous version 2.2.8 are as follows:

Ver 2.3 - 2011-12-08 by Capella

- Changed name of the EA (from MDP-Plus) as the thread in the forum once again was removed. This EA is now a copyrighted shareware ? a non-commercial product free to use.
......

Enjoy :)

Thanks for the update.

Have you considered adding a higher TF MA as filter?

Currently i use XMT (2.2.6 and .7) with a forced SELL only option since i assume that upper spikes are more likely to retrace in a down trend.

There is a cool AllAverage Indi that could be implemented into the code. If by user input one could decide to check for a trend based on H1, H4, D1 or whatever and allow XMT to countertrade only spikes against a bigger trend im sure we all would see less losers - thats what im having on my demo anyway.

Cheers

droslan,
i think he's from some different hemisphere i would love to visit. maybe there'd be more like him from whence he comes...
bless you capella

i guess we should give it one last shot with an entirely new ea name.
if they dont appreciate the exposure this thread brings to the site then we could consider another forum.
that though depends on capella's willingness to move his work to some other forum.
there are hundreds of eas that have their ideas from some other ones yet are sold; this though is the free hardwork of capella and the rest of forumites.

Thanks!
God bless you!
I wanna know how to fixed the TP and SL?
and no dynamic
TP and SL are adjusted dynamically with OrderModify command as often as necessary as they are trailed. This is the idea behind the strategy in this EA. If they had fixed values and never changed it would be a totally different strategy, and it would not make many profitable trades.

The default settings are optimized, and should only be changed if you do extensive backtests, especially if there are backtests for other currency pairs.

Getting really weird stats at myfxbook.
1 pip profit gave me USD28.88
-0.5pips loss gave me a loss of USD189.28

Is it because the commission eats all the profit up? I dont get it.

It's not easy to comment unless I can see the log file that also covers modified orders between open and close for the orders. My explanation is that what you see does not includes modified orders. Because once an order is opened it will be modified several times before it's closed with either a SL or a TP. And disregarding of it's a SL or TP the order can either be a profit or a loss.

It's much easier to follow finalized trades by studying the log-file.

In the Terminal window, click on the Journal tab, then right-click and choose Open. If there are several files, then choose the one with today's date.

Today live demo trading on a demo account (Alpari UK) so far shows the following result on EURUSD (time is GMT/UTC + 1 hour), opening and closing prices within brackets.

BUY 14.55 (1.33989) -> 14.56 (1.33995) closed by SL = 0.6 pip profit
BUY 15.01 (1.33712) -> 15.01 (1.33705) closed by TP = 0.7 pip loss
SELL 15.29 (1.33397) -> 15.29 (1.33311) closed by TP = 8.6 pip profit
BUY 15.29 (1.33283) -> 15.30 (1.33278) closed by SL = 0.5 pip loss

Just to give you an understanding that both SL and TP can result in either profit or a loss, because the initial SL and TP is constantly modified as the prices change tic for tic.

Timeframe change

Timeframe change

Hi Capella,

Just a quick question as couldn't find the reasoning behind it in the manual.

Why the change to the M5 timeframe??

The EA can be used on live accounts. Just remember that many brokers gives totally different spreads on their live servers compared to their demo-servers. And this EA is very sensitive when it comes to spread, stoplevel and execution speed. If the conditions are met, the EA is very profitable. I strongly suggest that it's tested on live demo-accounts first, and that everyone who want to run it on real accounts also checks and compares the demo-server compared to the live-server, because it makes a major difference if they differ too much.

It doesn't matter for the trading. But when you backtest on M1 it shows 25% modelling quality for M1 but 90% on all other time frames. So it's a psychological issue.

Okay. I am really pushing XMT 2.2.7 just to get a lot of trades with a low value for VolatilityMultiplier so there is a lot of information in Journal tab. Attached.
Here is myfxbook link also:

Well I had a good day with XMT 2.2.7 and hoping and no reason not to think so that 2.3 will be even better. I am running live on pepperstone with small account and had 19 trades today with 12 winners and 7 losers using defaault settings on EURUSD except the risk amount, which I set to 0.5% and the increased to 1% results as follows:

Spread normally for eurusd is between 0.1 and 0.4 pips and A$3.5 commission per lot

So overall a profit after taking into account commission and overall pips won on the day net = 30.2 :)
