Thanks alot well i got the recomended reading list along with the books you mentioned below . But in TTTA there is alot of symbolism and it gets hard to understand the true meaning of all.So which other stuff from his reading list should be read so to get a better understanding of TTTA.
Hi there -

I think everyones journey is different, and as i don't know your trading experience, its hard to give you any real prudent advice - except to say TTTA is a complex book requiring much work to decipher.

Having said that, GANN left a tidy set of rules for using a mechanical system which works a treat when the rules are followed.
(A great current example of which is GOOG )
This will give you the tools to make a tidy income whist you work on TTTA and the hidden rules in HTMPIC.

If you are just starting out you will require a strong understanding of Swing trading and Money management, all of which is covered in Ganns material.

I would strongly recommend mastering his mechanical system before moving to the more esoteric work, which will lead you on an amazing journey of discovery, perhaps one that can not be competed in one lifetime.

The US STEEL lessons provide a great grounding for this mechanical system.

I dont normally read or follow forums but there are some excellent posts and interesting discussion here,
and as i think Mr Steele said previously the best work is that left by Mr Gann , and you need to be true to that work, and be careful that others, and their interpretation of the work does not sway your own interpretation.

By interpretation, i mean you could give 10 traders the same system and the same rules and you would get 10 different results because of interpretation and implementation.

I will also say, and i've been working with this material since 1989 - it was not until i started to create my own hand drawn charts from the material left by GANN I could see what he was doing, there are NO short cuts. and i still use hand drawn charts today particularly for active markets i am trading. ( but thats another discussion.)

The Journey is not easy but the rewards are more than worth while for those who persist.

Feel free to PM me if you wish ...

Good Luck and Great trading.

J got some good starter advice there!Next to US Steel one should also look at AUBURN MOTORS afterwards as it presents some "advanced" concepts. If one is not into esoterism the journey ends with the simple mechanical stuff, albeit at the core most of Gann is "mechanical" one way or the other.

Luigi - thank you - i think Gann has become a topic that is misrepresented as having most importance in the esoteric side, and there was far more to his work.

I think that the mistake people make with GANN is that they jump to the TTTA stuff thinking there is some silver bullet.
They then become disillusioned when they can't , after reading Tunnel twice find " The Answer ". and move to some Simpler method.

Good call on Auburn Motors - i think Lambert gann produced a set of charts for Auburn, also the data is pretty easy to get to create the charts yourself.

The interesting thing about AUBURN, or US STEEL, BEANS, WHEAT, COTTON OR DOW, for example is if you create the charts, you can overlay the esoteric stuff on them and build the full story.

Srry, don´t know why so many Threads, could you please put all together? thanks =)
You been joking,right?:D
If you are overwhelmed by the amount of info-dont be.Consider the seemingly chaotic info an admission test to the Gann World. It is not for everybody! And thats by far not to be taken negatively, travelling the Gann path is like crossing the dessert hunting water. Some cant stand heat, discouraging situations or simply looking for water. The dessert then is not your favourite place to be.Also if you are some kind of religious fanatic in an objective evaluation-look for something else.
If indeed someone still wants to feel the sand of the dessert in his face, think about how one gets across a dessert-you dont simply start wandering in some direction. You check routes travelled by others before, maybe you dont like that scenery,ok,so draw up your own map,get your compass and draw up your own plan, but dont just go about wandering, you will get lost

well by far i have been silent because i have been reading and grinding the things told by Gann. Well i i made few observations that Gann did not mean to start everything from start. The main focus of him to start things from All time highs or lows as that it is easy for people to start from one point and keep adding knowledge. As he said he cud predict to the exact points that was just becuase he had good grip on the concepts.

WEll for till now i have used SQUARE of 9 for finding reversal dates and they do work very well but yet again in markets there is nothing that is Exact. Another concept i read of gann was %age from all time low and then from all time high and i have seen it works like a charm.

I will like to thank John K. who have been patient to bear my question and also guiding me when i need it. I still do use his very first advice of 50% and double tops and bottoms. So in short Gann is not hard to get but yes it takes times and the wonderful thing i have seen in it is that it can astray you easily and those who have NERVES of STEEL which is needed in trading keep on learning and keep adding to there knowledge.

I would like the learned person like John K. and lugi and others to please keep on guiding us as always and do share some concept which should be looked again in those books with some new perspective

May I recommend Mystifying Square, divine proportions - Nature's Black Box.

May I recommend Mystifying Square, divine proportions - Nature's Black Box.

It will teach you all about the Time Factor and Law of Vibration, explain the Square of 9 and geometric angles. It will also teach you to combine Gann with Elliott. Good luck

Is there any shared copy of "Mystifying Square, divine proportions - Nature's Black Box" we can look at?

I have read some recent articles by the author making market predictions using Gann's square of nine, which were missed!

thx

HWSteele has a very good approach here. I had been trading for 12 years before I started studying Gann and have had many a epiphany since I started my Gann studies. You have to hang in there, study and be patient in your brains power to absorb your learning, in these, 'not so easy lessons"... I learned a lot about how to study correctly and the understanding epiphany's, did come. Gann himself, did say, he would take 10 years to research and learn along with the rest of his life to iron out all the little sub categories that become part of the whole subject. I believe one of my problems was having purchased to many Gann books at ounce. I jumped around to much and found myself with information overload. I had to regroup and take one book at a time without skipping around. that was 5 years ago and now I'm heading into the astro part of things and that's even deeper. I also, like many, had to learn these thing on my own which takes much longer than having a mentor or teacher who could help shorten the learning cure. Many, might find the subject interesting but don't want to take the time needed, to get the job done. One solution for this might be, just adding a few newsletters, from some of the experts and let them do the work, at a cost of the newsletter. I found, that I really like studying "what the ancients knew" but that's me. Hope this helps some of the beginners just starting out with Mr. Gann....you go for the Degree, then the PHD and the Doctorate. Thanks Birch49

What do you think about David Bowden course: Ultimate Gann Course?

He says that it is the most comprehensible course available.

Well i suggest that you should start with the Truth of Stock Tape that is good one to start with. That course is advance well i could not get alot from that course or may b i did not gave that course that much time. But Truth of Stock Tape is good read.

Nature's Black Box" in pdf form as the cost of buying the original one is way beyond my reach.
I also have heard about David Bowden's "Ultimate Gann Course but in order to grab it's idea, one has to do 2 courses before that as all his courses can be purchased in a sequence.
As for Gann's books, i have arranged all, except "Economic Forecaster".
Also , if anyone could tell the sequence in which Gann's books are to be read one at a time will be of great help

Thanks
